Hell No! — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 May 2026

TL;DR: Hell No! does not collect, store, or share any personal data on our servers. Everything you log stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Hell No! works entirely on your iPhone:

We have no servers that hold a copy of your data. There is no Hell No! user account. We never see what you did or didn't spend.

Subscriptions (Pro)

Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store. Apple shares with us only an anonymous identifier (managed via RevenueCat) so we can confirm your subscription is active. RevenueCat is bound by its own privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. We never receive your real name, email, payment details, or address.

AI Decline Helper

If you tap "Generate Replies" inside the AI Decline Helper, the invite text you typed is sent to our proxy server (hellno-ai-proxy.hellno.app) which forwards it to a large-language-model provider (OpenRouter routing to MiniMax / DeepSeek / Gemini) only for the duration of that single request. We do not store the invite text or the generated replies. The proxy keeps an anonymous rate-limit counter per device (random UUID, no link to identity) which resets every 24 hours.

Push notifications

The 8 PM nightly reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device via iOS UNUserNotificationCenter. It never leaves the device. You can turn it off in Hell No! → Me → Settings → 8PM Nudge, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Hell No!.

Analytics / tracking

None. No Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Sentry. We do not track app opens, taps, sessions, crashes, or any user behavior on a server.

Children

Hell No! is rated 9+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Sharing

Because we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to share with third parties. If you tap the share button to post a Hell No! card to Instagram Stories / TikTok / Messages / Copy Link, the image is generated on your device and handed off to the destination app — we don't see it.

Your rights

Since your data lives only on your device, you control it directly:

EU users have rights under GDPR. Because we have no servers holding your data, requests to access, correct, or delete typically resolve by uninstalling the app. If you have a question, contact us at the address below.

Changes

If we ever start collecting data (we don't plan to), we will update this page and notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top tracks revisions.
